Chronic Pain

The term ‘chronic pain’ is applied in situations where pain persists in tissues long after the healing process should have completed. The length of time injured tissue takes to heal is dependant on a wide range of factors including (to name but a few) the severity of the injury, the type of tissue injured and the pre-injury status of the injured person - fit patients will heal faster than couch potatoes! The vast majority of soft-tissue injuries should heal within three months of onset; if your symptoms persist beyond this period it is highly unlikely that your problem will sort itself out and you should book an appointment straight away - The sooner you get to see us the sooner we can get you on the road to recovery!
