Advanced Physiotherapy Centres

Corporate Physio

In much the same way as it is important for an individual to look after their health, it is just as important for companies to ensure the health and well being of their staff!

We are able to provide a dedicated physiotherapist to look after staff in the workplace environment. This service can only result in greater productivity as staff do not have to travel for appointments nor do they have to wait for weeks or months for NHS treatment. By providing easy access to our expertise in injury management we can ensure staff members are accurately diagnosed and treated as soon as injuries occur, therefore ensuring recovery is as rapid as possible and time off work is kept to a minimum. With a lack of input or inappropriate injury management a simple musculoskeletal problem can easily develop into a chronic condition and this simply should not happen in the 21st Century. We can work alongside your existing HR / personnel department to ensure that wherever possible injuries are prevented by screening your workforce for those most at risk of developing injuries. We can also carry out ergonomic work station assessments and provide manual handling advice to ensure environmental injury risks are kept to a minimum.

We have always been struck by the lack of awareness that the majority of our population have in terms of how to look after their bodies. When this is coupled with the under-resourced and chaotic NHS provision of musculoskeletal medicine it is not difficult to understand why musculoskeletal ill-health is the single biggest cause of days off sick in the UK. According to the Health & Safety Executive, in 2005/06, an estimated 9.5 million working days (in the UK) were lost through work-related musculoskeletal disorders and on average, people suffering from a work-related musculoskeletal disorder took an estimated 17.3 days off work.* This huge drain on resources is largely preventable. The vast majority of musculoskeletal injuries respond readily to treatment and rehabilitation providing the intervention is applied in the first few days after an injury has occurred.
